The scene of the crash on Tuesday

Sirens could be heard blaring down US 89 in Utah late Tuesday afternoon (3/31), as multiple agencies of emergency personnel rushed to the scene of a motor vehicle accident (March 31st).

The accident involved a passenger car and a semi tractor trailer.

The occupants, Robert Shelton and Kristan Millman were both residents of Church Wells, and Shelton had recently been hired to work for Marine Services.  They also had their dog in the car with them at the time.   Both occupants, as well as the dog, perished in the collision.

Lake Powell Communications spoke with Big Water Fire and rescue Chief, Pat Horning, about the accident who said the cause of the wreck has yet to be determined, but it appeared the car had attempted to make a U-turn on the highway just prior to the crash.

Chief Horning asked that drivers everywhere please use caution.

Big Water emergency personnel were assisted by the National Park Service, U.S. Park Rangers, and the Greenehaven (Az.) Fire Department.

The Utah Highway Patrol and The Kane County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating the accident.
