Lyle Jeffs is scheduled to be in court this Wednesday in Salt Lake City. He is hoping that a judge will allow him out of jail, where he is awaiting the FLDS’s trial concerning the alleged rampant food stamp fraud.

There are reports this week that there is a belief within the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints that when Jeffs appears, the walls of the courthouse will open through divine intervention, allowing him to walk away.

Those who follow this way of thinking are also sure that on Wednesday, in Texas, there will be an earthquake, also through divine intervention. This will allow the former leader and prophet of the FLDS, Warren Jeffs, (Lyle’s brother) to walk out of his Texas prison. He is serving a life term plus twenty years for sexual assault on a 12-year old girl; his wife. (He was in his 50s when they wed)

Last week another Jeffs brother, Seth, was released from jail pending the food stamp fraud trial.

Sam Brower, the Utah private eye who helped bring down FDLS leader, Warren Jeffs, with his book, “Prophet’s Prey,” was very upset about Seth Jeffs’ release, saying on Facebook;

“This is a man who is a convicted felon for aiding a federal fugitive on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted List! To say I am appalled is an understatement. There just aren’t words! Seth lives by the mantra espoused by Warren Jeffs that it is perfectly acceptable to “…lie to escape the hands of the enemy…” so that you can continue to serve God and the prophet.”

Brower went on to say;

“The federal prosecutors are, I am sure, not real crazy about Judge Ted Stewart’s decision to release members of the west’s most infamous child exploitation syndicate loose after having them in custody. I personally am in a state of disbelief. I know of no case in which there is more reason to hold someone without bail than Seth Jeffs and Lyle Jeffs. Now I deeply fear Lyle will be next to be released by this judge.”

Judge Stewart is a Senior U.S. district judge in the U.S. District Court in the District of Utah.

Hopefully the courthouse in Salt Lake City and the prison in Palestine, Texas are heavily insured.
