Several law enforcement agencies got involved in a potentially dangerous situation on Tuesday morning. A Page man in his 30s, who was apparently distraught, took-off from his home with two rifles and ammunition, headed toward the Gap area.

A family member called 9-1-1 and told the dispatcher about the situation. A Page police officer went to the home to get further details, which he passed along to the dispatcher. She, in turn, passed the information along to the other agencies.

The original call came-in sat about 10:30 A.M. Arizona time.

About twenty minutes later a Coconino County Sheriff’s Deputy, after following the vehicle for several miles at 60 MPH, pulled the vehicle over. A Navajo police officer came on the scene, as well, and the man was arrested without incident. The charge against him is not known at this time.

Navajo police took the subject to Tuba City for processing, after which he was released later in the day or early on Wednesday.
