Sedona Film Festival Starts this Weekend
The 20th annual Sedona International Film Festival starts this weekend on Saturday February 22, in Sedona, Arizona. It runs through Sunday, March 2, 2014.
Known as a “cinephile’s dream,” the festival includes nine days of screenings and educational workshops. Considered one of the top regional festivals in the nation, the Sedona Film Festival features over 145 independent films, including features, shorts, documentaries, animation, foreign and student films. Named the “Fest to Impress” by MovieMaker Magazine, the 2014 edition continues the tradition of celebrating the art of film-making.
Over the years, the festival has featured a number of Academy Award-nominated films. Past festival guests and honorees include Michael Moore, Jane Seymour, Peter Fonda, Nick Nolte, Ed Asner, and Ted Danson. This year’s nine-day festival features special appearances by Susan Sarandon, Stephanie Powers, Mariel Hemingway, Morgan Spurlock and country music star Brad Paisley.
The Harkins Sedona Six Theatre on Highway 89A in Sedona is the main theatre venue for the Festival. Additional screenings take place at the Sedona Performing Arts Center at Sedona Red Rock High School and the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Highway 89A.
