Don Christensen co-authored the book “Rock Art in the Grand Canyon Region” with Jerry Dickey and Steven M. Freers. Over the past 25 years the authors worked with the Kaibab National Forest, Grand Canyon National Park, Bureau of Land Management/Arizona Strip, and the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument to form a comprehensive overview of the 5,000 years of Native American art throughout the Grand Canyon region.

The lecture is part of Arizona Archaeology and Heritage Awareness Month, giving the public a chance to get a taste of the past. Events are happening all over the state through March. Museums, historical societies, tribes, agencies, parks, and archaeology organizations are hosting events across Arizona. Activities within a day trip of Page are at Pipe Springs National Monument, Grand Canyon, Walnut Canyon National Monument and Wupatki National Monument. To see the full list of events, check out the Arizona State Park website.
