In the boys’ edition of the Navajo Generating Station Classic this weekend, the Sand Devils shook off a first round loss to Arbor View Las Vegas and reeled off two consecutive victories to take the consolation championship.  Page handled Kingman Academy 59-45 on Friday, and then topped Monument Valley 50-43 on Saturday. Justin Billy and Jevon Yazzie were named to the all tournament team and Senior guard Noah Larsen won the three point shooting contest Saturday morning.

The girls’ basketball team saw their 21 game winning streak snapped this weekend in Flagstaff at the Pepsi Holiday Tournament. Flagstaff topped Page 55-46 in pool play on Friday before the Sand Devils earned consecutive victories against Trevor Browne in the quarterfinals and last year’s champions Valley Christian in the semifinals. In a championship rematch against Flagstaff, Page came up short, falling 59-55. The Sand Devils had two players, Natasha Henry and Ashley Dempsey, named to the all tournament team.

On the soccer pitch, the girls’ soccer team went two for three on the weekend, earning wins against Lee Williams and Kingman and dropping a close match against Lake Havasu.
