Page/Lake Powell Dam Jam Opportunities

December 29
21:43 2013

band_smallNow’s your chance to be part of the big music festival for 2014 as a vendor or sponsor at the Page/Lake Powell Dam Jam. Coordinated by The Kind Relief, the event is scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend, May 24 & 25, 2014, at the Page Shores Amphitheater.

Up to 6000 music lovers are expected to attend. A variety of bands will be featured, playing everything from country, folk and bluegrass to jazz, blues, modern rock and more. The ultimate goal is for everyone to have a “Dam Good Time.”

Vendors Wanted, Free of Fees

Part of that Dam Good Time includes the availability of good food and drinks. Food and beverage vendors, plus local businesses with products or services unique to the area, are encouraged to participate. Vendors can set up booths free of initial fees. How much is paid to the event depends on how much is sold.

Here’s how it works:
Everything sold at Dam Jam will be purchased with tickets bought at a central ticket booth. Attendees buy tickets to use for purchases at the event for $1 each. At the end of the event, vendors exchange their tickets for $.90 each. Dam Jam makes 10% of vendor sales.

Vending spaces are limited, so if you’re interested, reserve your spot soon. Spaces will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis with approval by event organizers.

Seeking Local Support and Participation

Event organizers are also looking for the following:

* Local hotels to agree to book rooms for the event on the Dam Jam website, preferably at a special event rate.

* Shuttle services to and from hotels and event site.

* A local business with an existing liquor license and adequate staff to run a general admission beer garden.

* Cash sponsorships in exchange for advertising and promotion before and during the event. The plans are to spend $50,000 in marketing throughout the southwest, focusing on college campuses. The event will also be promoted to European tourists.

* Event volunteers to help with the gate, ticket booths, grounds keeping, set-up, break-down and other tasks before, during and after the Dam Jam.

If you’re interested in being a vendor, volunteer or sponsor, contact event organizer Joe McKee at [email protected]
