Page City Council Meeting Wednesday, November 19

City Council GenericPage City Council Meeting at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, November 19, will be preceded by a work session at 5:30 PM. The work session will focus on discussion by the City Council on the Lake Powell National Golf Course Club House renovation and on the Little League program.

The regular meeting of the Page City Council will include discussion and possible action to approve the Film Festival event, to amend the City Code Chapter 12 Off Road Vehicles Ordinance, and to amend the City Code Chapter 2 Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Ordinance.

Under new business, there will be discussion and possible action to adopt the City of Page City Council Strategic Priorities 2015. The eight page Strategic Priorities 2015 document can be viewed at The document sets forth the vision and values, as well as objective criteria for strategic priorities in five areas of this comprehensive view of City responsibilities. The five areas are:

  1. Community Development
  2. Fiscal Stability
  3. High Performing Organization
  4. Improving Infrastructure
  5. Quality of Life.

Some of the major points of reorganization are:

  • Objective 1.1: Form a Community Development Department and hire a Community Development Director to direct Planning and Zoning, Economic Development, Community Development, Tourism and Code Compliance.
  • Objective 2.1: Combine the Finance, Risk Management and Human Resource Department.
  • Objective 3.1: Create a culture of safety, innovation and efficiency.
  • Objective 4.1: Hire a Director of Engineering to oversee the design, construction, inspection and maintenance of City infrastructure projects.
  • Objective 5.1: Create a Community Services Department to oversee the Library, Recreation and Community Center; and permanently appoint a Community Service Director.

There will also be discussion and possible action by the City Council pertaining to acceptance of Assistance to Firefighter Grant from FEMA, Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The regular City Council meeting includes a Call to the Public where members of the public may address the City Council on matters that are not listed on the City Council agenda.
