It’s all about trust, evidently; trust between the would-be developers of 860 acres of City of Page land along US 89 south of Tunnel Road and Page city leaders.

The word trust was used often last night by City Council members, and those representing the group interested in the property. That group includes Cory Foulk of Hawaii, who spoke at length at the meeting. He wanted to convince counselors that they are not here to flip the property, or to do something with it which they are not revealing. Among other things, he said, they have a high-end resort in mind.

Much of the discussion was about how much water they will have to work with from the city; something they need to know before they can move forward.

Page City Council did not consider the dark sky ordinance before them Wednesday night because someone had stepped forward at the last minute asking for a public hearing on the matter.

The issue, which has become controversial, had been expected to be voted on Wednesday. Now it will be weeks, because notices for a public hearing needed to go out, and a date has to be set.
