The Cancer Outreach Thrift Center will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. operating out of the old Diamond River Adventure building at 916 Vista Avenue. A Bingo Hall is planned for the future, but for now the facility boasts a small library area, electronics room, art room, a furniture section, appliance section, and, of course, clothing. This week, in honor of Easter, customers can crack a special Easter egg for specials and store discounts and also enter a drawing to win an Easter Basket!

The building purchase should be completed by next year but, in the meantime, a lease option is in place on 8,000 square feet of Cancer Outreach Future!” – Jo Bjorholm

All funds raised through Cancer Outreach stay right here in the community to help local cancer patients and their families with associated travel expenses including gas, food, and housing. Bjorholm started the local Cancer Outreach in October of 2010 after witnessing family members of a terminally ill patient struggle with costs, and even sleeping in their car, to be near their loved one.
