Purchase a New Arizona Fishing License

The easiest way to buy an Arizona Fishing License is on the Arizona Fish and Game website. You can immediately print out your license from there. Fishing licenses are also available at 320 license dealers across the state, including sporting good stores, bait and tackle shops and convenience stores. Or you can stop by an Arizona Game and Fish Department Office.

Lifetime licenses are available to Arizona residents and can only be purchased at Game and Fish offices. Disabled veterans and long-time residents of Arizona over 70 years old may qualify for a complimentary license.

Fishing licenses are NOT required when:

  • Fishing on free fishing day, June 7, 2014
  • Participating in a fishing clinic sponsored by the Game and Fish Department
  • Fishing private waters with permission of property owner

Arizona Fishing Licenses Only Good in Arizona

Lake Powell fisherman take note: Arizona Fishing Licenses are only good on the Arizona portion of Lake Powell. You must purchase a Utah permit to fish in the Utah portion of the lake.

Utah fishing licenses allow fishing in all of Lake Powell, including the section in Arizona. If you want to fish with two poles in Utah, you’ll need to purchase a Utah second pole permit for $15. Utah fishing licenses and permits are available online, from license agents and Wildlife Division offices.

Remember, you’re subject to the laws and rules of the state you’re fishing in, so keep track of your location on Lake Powell. You can find additional license information at Arizona Game and Fish Department website and the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources website.
