A Navajo woman was shot and killed in Winslow on Sunday after threatening police with a weapon.

Loreal Tsingine, a 27 year-old woman, was shot after an altercation with police officers.

At around 4 p.m. on Sunday, officers were dispatched to the Circle K in Winslow after receiving a report of a shoplifting. When an officer who was responding to the incident tried to contact Tsingine, she physically resisted and an altercation occurred, according to the Department of Public Safety (DPS).
