The Lake Fire at Mormon Lake near Flagstaff seems to be dying down.

The fire which was caused by lightning on June 14th, had been burning for weeks, and is now coming under control thanks to monsoon rains.

The U.S. Forest Service is currently managing the fire and have begun to release numerous firefighting crews due to the decrease in severity of the fire.

As for the Locust Fire near the Rainbow Rim, it continues to burn and is being managed by firefighters.

As of this time, Rainbow Rim is open for recreational use, but the roads around the area remain barricaded to motorists.

Lake Powell Communications will continue to update the status of these fires as they progress.

The smoky grey haze in Page seems to have finally lifted, revealing the beautiful surroundings once more.
