Mobile Home Fire Injures 4 in Northern Arizona

On Saturday morning, a mobile home fire left 4 people seriously injured  in the community of Cane Beds in northern Arizona, near the Utah border. The incident is still under investigation and the victims’ names have not been released.

AirliftAccording to the Mohave County Sheriff’s department, Colorado City firefighters responded to the fire about 7:10 am on Saturday, March 22. When they arrived, they found four burn victims in the front yard. All were airlifted to hospitals.

The victims were identified as a mother, father and their 8-month-old daughter, along with a 15-year-old female friend of the family.

The mother was airlifted to a hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. The baby was airlifted to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. The baby’s father and teenage female were airlifted to a hospital in Salt Lake City. The victims were transported by First Mercy Air and Life Flight.

While Mohave County Sheriff’s detectives and Colorado City Fire Department continue to investigate, a leaky valve was found on the propane gas line behind the stove. The ignition source remains unknown.

Cane Beds is located along the Arizona Strip, approximately 7 miles from Colorado City and 40 miles from Fredonia. The community covers a little over 8 square miles with a population of about 450.
