Two years after a warrant for an attempted murder charge in Page was issued for his arrest, John Leo Meyers, 38, turned himself in to Flagstaff police.

According to the report from Flagstaff Police Department, Meyers entered the police station on Wednesday telling the front desk staff he had a warrant and wanted to turn himself in. He told the officer he did not know what the warrant was for but he thought it was for not paying a fine in Page.

Officers then learned Meyers really had two warrants for his arrest.

One issued by Page Municipal Court July 16, 2014 was for failure to pay fines. The other warrant was issued one week earlier by Page Justice Court for attempted second-degree murder.

According to the Page Police Department, Meyers was wanted for more than two years in connection with a stabbing case that occurred in June of 2014 in the Lake Powell Mobile Home Village.

The victim was a 33-year-old man, also from Page.
