Lodging, Restaurants, and Attractions Meeting

Yesterday afternoon a Lodging, Restaurants, and Attractions meeting was held at city hall.

The meeting is put on by Tourism Director Lee McMichael to give area business owners a chance to discuss issues regarding the tourism and hospitality industry in Page. McMichael gave a financial report in which it was reported that the Bed Tax for January through May was up 33.9% from last year’s numbers.

Judy Franz with the chamber of commerce announced the launch of, as well as a 9/11 Remembrance Day in city park on Friday September 11th from 3-6:30pm.

DJ Lister with Antelope Point Marina mentioned that Antelope is still looking for boaters to register for their 7th annual Lake Powell Challenge Benefit. The benefit will be held on September 19th with all proceeds going to the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation.

On a somber note, the Lake Powell Playhouse closed their doors for good last Friday. Family Bargain Center will move into their space in the Elm Street Mall.

The next meeting will be September 22nd.
