Strong southwest winds will develop Thursday afternoon, which combined with low relative humidity  will lead to areas of critical fire weather conditions across far northern Arizona. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for areas near the Kaibab Plateau and eastward into the Chinle Valley from 11 am to 6 pm MST (12 pm to 7 pm Navajo) Thursday. Areas of near-critical fire weather conditions will also be possible outside the Red Flag area during the afternoon Thursday as well.
