Candidate filing for elected county offices has begun. There are several county offices up for election this year. They are:

• Member County Board of Supervisors – Districts 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5
• Assessor
• County Attorney
• Recorder
• Sheriff
• Superintendent of Schools
• Superior Court Judge- Divisions III & V
• Treasurer

The deadline to file nomination petitions and paperwork to be a candidate for one of these county elected offices is June 1st at 5:00 pm.

Declared partisan candidates will be listed on their political party’s August 30th Primary Election ballot. The winners of the Primary Election will proceed to the November 8th General Election. Candidates running as an A.R.S. 16-341 candidate (nominated other than by primary) will automatically proceed to the November 8th General Election ballot and will not appear on the August 30th Primary Election ballot.

Candidate filing has also started for people wanting to become a Democratic, Libertarian or Republican Precinct Committeeman. These are partisan offices and will be elected at the August 30th Primary Election.

Non-partisan offices, such as board members for school, fire, water, sanitary and other special districts will only appear on the November 8th ballot. These candidates have a different filing period.
