Power Outage Hits Page, S. Utah
Electricity service to Page, the surrounding area and Kanab was disrupted at about 7:10 Tuesday morning when a portion of the 345 KV line between Page and Flagstaff failed. PEU Manager Bryan Hill says that when workers tried to re-energize the line from the yard in Scottsdale it triggered a major outage and took out all customers connected to the Glen Canyon Switchyard. The outage effected operations at Glen Canyon Dam for a brief period as well. It’s unclear whether the outage was weather related. Power was restored by 8 a.m.
