Photo courtesy of: Colorado River DiscoverySmooth water float trips in rafts are offered on the Colorado River from the base of Glen Canyon Dam to Lees Ferry.

The 15 mile trip takes five hours.

Professional guides cover a wide range of topics, including the construction of the dam, John Wesley Powell's adventures on the river, non native exploration and settlement of the Southwest, American Indian cultures, geology, water conservation, and ecology.

A stop is made on the trip for a short hike to view ancient petroglyphs inscribed in the rocks by Ancestral Puebloans.

Buses driven by tour guides transport rafters 43 miles back to Page.

Another option afforded rafters and Photo courtesy of: Colorado River Discoverycanoeists who would like to make their own way down the river is called backhauling.  The rafting company will tow your craft from Lees Ferry to a beach below the dam where you can launch.

People with disabilities can be accommodated.
